In association with Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), Bridgestone Middle East & Africa and Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA), Nasser Bin Abdullatif Alserkal Est.-Bridgestone division participated in a Vehicle Defects Clearing System (VDCS) Campaign to spread the awareness about the importance & proper maintenance of tyres, among the heavy vehicle drivers.

This testing program was conducted to encourage the drivers to take the necessary measures to maintain the tyres, by teaching them how to inspect for defects, thus helping to avoid such accidents in the future ultimately helping in reducing operational costs, and make the roads safer.

Our team of technical engineers and, sales executives, joined hands with heavy vehicle inspectors and respective personnel’s from RTA Licensing and Enforcement Dept. to make this initiative a great success.

Following were the activities conducted:

1. Physical inspection to check for defects for every individual truck.

2. Inflation & pressure check to ensure proper pressure maintenance.

3. Submission of detailed summarized report of the tyre conditions

4. Application of pressure stickers on vehicles recommending the suitable pressure for each axle

5. Distribution of safety booklets, brochures and leaflets

6. Distribution of give-aways like caps and water coolers to drivers, help them beat the heat

We take pride in the fact that RTA recognized our efforts and presented us with the VDCS award, during a recently held award ceremony.
